T20 cricket is a wild game – and nothing sums it up better than Melbourne Renegades spinner Cameron Boyce’s performance against the Sydney Thunder on Wednesday afternoon.
After the Thunder got off to a good start and were 0/75 down after six overs, Boyce was brought on offense to replace the crimpers and struck out immediately.
The leg spinner was able to fire away Alex Hales (44) from the last ball of his first over, before taking three wickets in a row to start his second over.
Jason Sangha passed one and was puzzled, Alex Ross attempted a reverse sweep on the hat-trick delivery and was trapped past LBW, before finally Daniel Sams played all around one and also got hit on the pads .

After a strong start between Hales and in-form Test star Usman Khawaja – who is still not absent at the time of writing – Thunder are now 5/93 halfway through their innings, after the keeper Matt Gilkes fell to Boyce while well.
The former Australian T20 bowler now has figures of 5/15 after three overs.
The Renegades are in last place in the standings, but a win could move them up to 7th place, while the Thunder look to build momentum in the final series.
