WATCH: Caitlin Clark Joins SNL Weekend Update and Hilariously Confronts Michael Che About His Past Criticism of Women’s Basketball – Mediaite

Women’s basketball superstar Caitlin Clark dropped by Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update – where she took on SNL Michael Che about his past criticisms of the game.

In a hilarious appearance, Clark — who was greeted with a huge 25-second ovation from the audience — called out Che for his criticism of women’s basketball, including the joke he made just before introducing Clark.

“The University of Iowa has announced that basketball star Caitlin Clark will have her jersey retired,” Che said. And replaced by an apron.

This joke elicited gasps from the audience and was not well received by Clark herself.

“You make a lot of jokes about women’s sports, don’t you, Michael?” Clark said.

“I wouldn’t say much,” Che replied.

But Clark immediately launched into a super cut of various Che bashings during the women’s match.

“A number of sports bars across the country are promising to only show women’s basketball games during March Madness,” Che said in an earlier gag. “Bars are collectively known as “empties.” »

In response, Clark asked Che to read several jokes about him.

“Netflix delivers a top-notch new show starring Ripley, featuring a strange and unsettling performance from the actor. Andrew Scott” Che said with a laugh. “Critics say it’s the hardest thing to watch on Netflix since Michael Che

special “Shame on the Devil”.

And to end the segment in style, Clark presented Che with a signed apron.
