Kyle Shanahan pulled out all the stops in Super Bowl LVIII. With his team leading 3-0 in the second quarter, the 49ers head coach organized a successful trick play that allowed Jauan Jennings to hit Christian McCaffrey for a 21-yard touchdown.

The score increased the 49ers’ lead to 10-0 with 4:23 left in the half. Jennings became the first player to throw a touchdown in the Super Bowl since Antwaan Randle El hit Hines Ward for a score in Super Bowl XL. Jennings was the highest-rated quarterback recruit participating in this game, according to 247sports.

McCaffrey has atoned for his first fumble. With that score, McCaffrey totaled 74 yards in the first 26 minutes of the game.

In the end, however, it was the Chiefs who won 25-22 in overtime for their second straight Super Bowl victory and third in four years.
