After England’s victory over Iran, they became big contenders for victory but failed to score and threaten an American side who could only draw 1-1 with the Country of Wales.
Kane was on form in the opener, providing an excellent assist for Raheem Sterling in the first half, but wasn’t much involved in the Three Lions’ disappointing display against the Americans.
There should be a different complexion to this game however, Wales will be desperate for a big win, while Gareth Southgate’s side might be able to use counter-attacking football.
Wales will be entirely absent from the start and could expose themselves defensively and see them leave spaces when fatigue sets in, in the second half.
England are known to absorb this kind of pressure and usually keep more possession than their opponents, which could give them the lead via a Kane goal.
With all the desperation and the chase for three points on either side, it tends to create a lot of fouls and yellow cards.
Ampadu has been an integral part of Wales, relentlessly tackling and being central in midfield – he was booked twice in World Cup qualifiers and will be busy against Phil Foden, Kane, Raheem Sterling and others.
The same can be said for Rice, who has been consistent in defensive midfield for England but is often carded due to his style of play.
