WAG Emily McKay returns to social media after split from AFL star Majak Daw

AFL star Majak Daw and longtime girlfriend Emily McKay announced their shock breakup on Friday.

And it looks like the WAG is focused on their young son, Hendrix, one, as she tries to overcome her grief.

Emily returned to social media for the first time since Monday’s news, posting an adorable video of the couple’s boy dancing to music while playing with his toys.

‘Fav song atm. Must watch video for inspiration, ” she captioned the clip on her Instagram Stories.

It comes after Emily and Majak’s shock split was reported on Friday in The Herald Sun.

Despite the breakup, the couple said they plan to make their young son their top priority.

Majak made a superb comeback to football earlier this year after nearly dying in the fall in December 2018.

The couple’s split comes just four months after she sent a gushing message thanking Majak’s supporters for helping her recover.

“All the nurses, doctors and surgeons that we met along the way. Words cannot describe how grateful we are and how amazing you are, ”she wrote in August.

Majak made his fairytale comeback to soccer during the Covid-interrupted 2020 season, putting the grim reality of his mental demons behind him.

Almost two years since a distraught Majak dived off Melbourne’s Bolte Bridge, the Sudan-born North Melbourne player, 29, has been preparing for the North Melbourne Kangaroos.

The bridge dive shattered his hips and pelvis, and the chances of him ever returning to the AFL seemed beyond far beyond.

The night he fell off the bridge, Majak allegedly had an argument with Emily and had taken a sleeping pill – Stillnox – known for its mental side effects.

His car was also found abandoned near the river.

In order to return to the field, the surgeon placed a 15-centimeter metal rod in each hip.

Majak said in a statement after the incident: “ To all of our beloved fans and members, I just wanted to thank everyone for their love and support over the past month.

“My attitude and my outlook on everything have improved. Hope to be back to play in the blue and white bands soon.

“Thank you all for respecting my need for privacy and giving me the chance to improve myself in the future.

Majak, who became a father to son Hendrix in August 2019, said he felt responsible for showing people with mental health issues – particularly during the lockdown – that there was a way to overcome their despair.
