VW Caddy receives virtual GTI treatment, Golf GTI becomes topless

Volkswagen is introducing several new products to global markets. Depending on where you live, you may soon be able to order the new Golf GTI, as well as the completely overhauled Caddy light commercial vehicle. Designate X-Tomi decided that this was the best time to imagine two new additions to the VW performance range that will probably never reach production.

First, there is now a virtual Golf GTI Cabrio – a spiritual successor to the Eos 3.6 VR6, which was produced between 2009 and 2011 and featured a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 260 horsepower. (191 kilowatts) and 258 foot-pounds (350 Newton) meters) of torque. This rendering takes the body of the Golf GTI Mk8, loses the rear doors and adds a foldable fabric roof. It looks good, but we’re almost 100% sure that Volkswagen has no plans to build it.

Then there’s the Caddy GTI – a hypothetical light-duty utility vehicle from Wolfsburg. The idea may seem a bit absurd, but the thing looks great. The front is completely redesigned thanks to the bumper of the Golf GTI and the GTI grille seems to adapt very well to the large headlights of the Caddy. Add to that a striking red color and a few more sporty touches and you have the most beautiful LCV today.

The largest engine that will be available for the new Caddy is the new 2.0-liter TDI with the company’s Twindosing system, which uses two AdBlue injectors. These turbodiesel engines have a lot of potential hidden beneath the compression ignition system, and tuners will likely be happy to bring power to around 200 hp (149 kW) at the cost of a few hundred dollars. If you can recreate the sporty appearance of the rendering to adapt it to the increase in punch, you will in fact be able to drive an efficient light commercial vehicle.
