Vogue Australia has apparently deleted a line from its article on Phoebe Bridgers that referred to Paul Mescal as the singer’s ‘ex-fiancée’.
The original profile, which was posted on Tuesday, included a line that read in part, “She’s supporting ex-fiancé ‘Mr. Paul Mescal in Aftersun’ at the upcoming Oscars, ‘of course.’ “
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that the line remained the same in the updated version of the digital article, although the “former bride” was removed.
Many people on social media took to the tweak to confirm that Bridgers, 28, and Mescal, 27, had called it quits after months of speculation.
“Oh my god the fashion piece clearly said ex-fiancée…it’s really over for Paul and Phoebe…” tweeted one fan.

“The vogue referring to paul in phoebe’s interview as his ‘ex-fiancée’ is not a good sign i’m afraid,” another avid fan wrote.
However, other fans pointed out that the phrase wasn’t in quotes in the article, meaning the “Scott Street” singer didn’t refer to Mescal herself and Vogue added the sentence editorially.

Vogue Australia did not comment on the editorial change, nor did it immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment. We have also contacted representatives of Bridgers and Mescal, although their clients have remained tight-lipped about any shared speculation.
The “Motion Sickness” singer and the “Normal People” actor have found themselves at the center of breakup reports over the past few months.

Mescal sparked speculation after he was pictured chatting with Angelina Jolie in early January. Meanwhile, Bridgers also contributed to the rumors when she shared her tips for overcoming ‘heartbreak’.
“You just have to do it,” she told Amelia Dimoldenberg during a December episode of “Chicken Shop Date.” “And it’s going to end at some point but you can’t make it end, that’s my advice.”
