TikTok is a place for both brilliant and bizarre beauty hacks, from curling lashes upside down for better length to seemingly endless Dyson Airwrap alternatives and styling tips.

Today, we bring you an example from the weird camp, as the latest designer to go viral claims that the secret to perfect wet hair is lube. Yes, we are talking about this kind.

Wet hair has long been a favorite look of several A-list celebrities, from Kim and Kourtney Kardashian to Megan Fox and Zendaya. Now, a video by the @edelydesigns designer has racked up more than three million views on the app after she claimed lube was the celebrity hairstylist’s secret to the red carpet trend.

“Apparently celebrity hairstylists use LUBE to make wet hair look last all night!” she captions the video before trying the method on her own.

“I WONDER HOW TO DO THIS FOR YEARS!!!” one of them commented with the mind blowing emoji.

“Me discovering the John Frieda serum in 2001,” another joked.

“Did this in high school because I thought it was hair oil for months and my parents laughed their heads off. Best oil ever,” added a third, while a fourth said, ‘Ok omg I’m doing this’.

Many users pointed out that getting their hair wet before applying lube might work better for styling, but other TikTokers weren’t sold on the method at all.

“Never understood why this is a wanted effect,” one commented, while another added, “not something I would put on my hair.”

“If I don’t wash my hair for three days my hair looks like this for free,” joked another, while a fourth asked, “Can’t you just use gel?”

We’re not sure we’ll be trying this one anytime soon either, but you have to give Edely top marks for creativity.
