Vinicius Jr was subjected to further racist abuse during Real Madrid’s LaLiga game against Mallorca.
The Brazilian winger also picked up an unwanted record from Real Madrid in the encounter, with the Mallorca side winning it at the Son Moix stadium as the LaLiga champions lost 1-0.

The star was once again the victim of racist insults
Mallorca fans were filmed racially abusing the 22-year-old on Sunday, with supporters heard calling the striker a ‘fuckin’ monkey’ in a video posted by streaming company DAZN on social media.
Vinícius Junior was also the victim of 10 fouls from the Mallorca players who beat him in the game, the highest total for a Real Madrid player in a LaLiga match since Isco against Real Betis in August 2013.
It is also the most fouls on a LaLiga player this season.
Responding to the racist abuse and accusations against his players, Mallorca boss Javier Aguirre denied that his players had targeted Vinícius in the bad-tempered game.
But Vinicius Jr manager Carlo Ancelotti had a totally different view and came out to defend his player and question the lack of protection for his player by game officials, given that the Brazilian was put in the book instead of those who challenged it.
“The referee forgot the repetitions of faults. It’s a yellow card if a foul is repeated, repeated and repeated again, but we issued two cards at half-time, and Mallorca with zero,” according to reports from Diario AS.
“Not everything that’s happening is Vinicius’ fault. The only thing he wants to do is play football but there’s an atmosphere that provokes him and rivals that pressure him.
“We need to change direction. We have to look at what happened to him in today’s game.
The Los Blancos ace has already been racially abused on at least three occasions – at Camp Nou against Barcelona in November 2021, Atlético Madrid in September 2022 and Valladolid at the end of December 2022.
Spanish police are also investigating a possible hate crime against him after a model wearing his No.20 shirt was hung from a bridge ahead of the Madrid derby in January.
Nacho Fernandez’s bizarre own goal secured a second La Liga defeat of 2023 for the defending champions as they lost more ground to league leaders and rivals Barcelona.
