Vincent Kompany has revealed he is ‘buzzing’ Manchester City’s success this season by sending congratulations to the club.
City have already enjoyed a stellar campaign after winning the Carabao Cup and made their way to a fifth Premier League title, a triumph that seemed highly unlikely after the Blues had a rocky start to the season.
It could be even better on Saturday May 29, as City take on rivals Chelsea in their first-ever Champions League final, having defeated Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-final.
City hero Kompany left the club in 2019 after his thunderous striker against Leicester City virtually secured the club their last league title in 2019.
The ex-captain, who now heads the Belgian side of Anderlecht, took some time out of his busy schedule to send congratulations to City.
“Hi everyone, I didn’t have time to communicate, post or do anything like that, I prepared for the matches I had to play here with Anderlecht, so it was a busy time, ”he said in a video message posted on Twitter.
“But I just wanted to say one thing, congratulations Man City! Winning the league, the Champions League final, I can’t say how happy I am, how much I buzz.
“Players, people I know at the club, fans, you know people I love, I hope we have something magical and I’m just happy for everyone.
“I haven’t had time to do much, to say a lot, to talk to a lot of people and it’s because I’m working hard to be successful here but I just want to pass on my love and just say … Ciiiiitty ! “
