There were well over 100 cars to appear in the Fast and furious franchise, exposing the stars to a plethora of brands and models. Series leader Vin Diesel took the driver’s seat in several of them, but which one was his favorite? A new Supercar Blondie video shows the YouTuber interviewing the man himself where he leaks the car he loved the most, and it’s not the iconic black Dodge Charger. But her favorite appears in the first film.
According to Diesel, his most favorite car in the franchise is the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, which he drove in the late 2001s. The fast and the furious when he’s in Mexico. Diesel says: “Obviously the Charger has sentimental value, but there is a Chevelle from the ’70s that has always been important to me too.” The red Chevelle with black stripes and mysteriously missing side mirrors is seen in the post-credit scene.
It’s kind of crazy to think that after nine films – F9 is set to premiere in the US on June 25 – Diesel’s favorites date back to 20 years ago. The new film is expected to add to the franchise’s stable of savage machines, with a mid-mounted Dodge Charger making its appearance. It’s heavily modified at the rear, with the coupe sporting huge hips. He plays alongside a jet Pontiac Fiero, which appears to be heading into space.
The franchise has seen countless cars decorate the big screen, with several becoming icons in their own right, like the purple Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder from 2 fast 2 furious or the orange Toyota Supra from the first game. There is no shortage of good candidates to be Diesel’s favorite. New F9 seems to be crammed with even more cars, although they seem a bit more whimsical than in previous installments. Either way, grab the popcorn for more car action.
