UW-Whitewater’s Grundahl earns third-team Academic All-America® women’s basketball honors – Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

AUSTIN, TX

–University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Aleah Grundahl was named to the 2023-24 NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Academic All-America® Third Team, selected by the College Sports Communicators.


Grundahl is the second person in program history to earn Academic All-America® honors from the College Sports Communicators. Vanessa Rieder was a third team honoree in 2000.


Grundahl is majoring in elementary education and has a 3.50 grade point average. She received the Judy Kruckman Scholar-Athlete Award from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) earlier this year.


Grundahl received the Jostens Trophy, awarded to the top women’s basketball player in NCAA Division III. She was also selected Region 9 Player of the Year by D3hoops.com and received first-team All-America recognition from D3hoops.com and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Grundahl was named WIAC Player of the Year for the third consecutive season – the first individual in conference records to accomplish this feat.

Grundahl became the all-time leading scorer for UW-Whitewater and the WIAC during the 2023-24 campaign with a career total of 1,952 points. In addition to her records, she holds numerous top-20 marks in the program and conference record books.

Throughout the season, Grundahl actively taught students and worked as a substitute teacher. She also became involved in the community by volunteering with Fairhaven Senior Services.
