USA Basketball finalizes its roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The roster includes the NBA’s brightest stars, led by Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry and Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant.

Other NBA stars who will participate are Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, Lakers big man Anthony Davis, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards, Suns guard Devin Booker, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid, Celtics guard Jrue Holiday, Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo and the Indiana Pacers. guard Tyrese Haliburton.
This will be Curry’s first Olympics, unlike his superstar counterparts James and Durant. This will be James’ fourth time with Team USA, as he seeks his third gold medal after winning in 2008 and 2012. Team USA fell short at the 2004 Olympics, winning the bronze. As for Durant, this will be his fourth appearance with the American team, not counting his participation in 2010 at the FIBA World Cup.

This is the most complete list from the United States since the 2012 Olympics. This response comes after the U.S. basketball team finished in fourth place at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. Even though the team had talented players like Edwards, Jalen Brunson, and Haliburton, the team was unable to win a championship.
Currently, 11 players are on the roster, so Team USA needs to add one more spot. There are many options to fill this position, such as Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard, Heat forward Jimmy Butler, Los Angeles Clippers stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, Celtics forward Jaylen Brown and Brunson of the New York Knicks.
The United States will aim for its fifth consecutive Olympic gold medal. However, it won’t be easy, as the whole world has caught up with the United States. Foreigners like Giannis Antetokounmpo of Greece, Nikola Jokic of Serbia and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Canada will also compete for gold.
Team USA last failed at the 2004 Olympics. The team failed to reach the gold medal game, losing in the semifinals to Argentina, 89-81 . Since that moment, the American team has changed the game and tried to bring together the best players in the sport. The Redeem team in 2008 changed things for the better for Olympic basketball and is now considered a world power.
USA Basketball will look to make history in these summer games and show the world that they are still the heavyweights and the team to beat.
