The Galaxy S21 isn’t an old phone at all, but it took a while for Android 13 to arrive on Samsung’s flagship of yesteryear. Now the unlocked S21 sees Android 13 along with a host of other devices.
Since Samsung’s official One UI 5 rollout began, we’ve detailed just about every device as Android 13 becomes available for everyone. Now, it looks like more users in the US are finally seeing the new Android 13 update for their carrier-unlocked Galaxy S21 devices (via Sam-Mobile). Previously, the upgrade was available for carrier-locked S21 series phones. Without this restriction, more users in the United States can install the update. The S21 is still an amazing device and the fact that it’s “outdated” makes it even more of a steal.

To add to the list of devices with the update available, the Galaxy M42 5G is getting Android 13 in India, bringing the new update to another midrange device for more users. Along with this, the Galaxy F42 5G in India also gets One UI 5. Unfortunately, this will be the last major OS update for the F42 as it nears the end of its lifespan.
Exclusively for SK Telecom, the Galaxy Quantum 2 was launched only for users in Korea. Now the Quantum 2 also sees Android 13 for users in this region. This will be the second-to-last major OS update that Quantum 2 sees.
Next to the last four devices, the last Galaxy phone to see One UI 5 is the Galaxy A22. The A-series is a long-running series of budget devices that perform well and have been a real bang for your buck in our experience. Luckily for A22 users in India, Android 13 is on its way. Much like the Quantum 2, the A22 will only see one update after that.
We’ve definitely reached the point where we’re seeing more Android 13 updates than we can count. Samsung’s timeline accurately predicts what we should see for the One UI 5 rollout. With that, it certainly won’t be the last big batch of devices to get the latest Android operating system.
