“We had to find out about Ticketmaster!” Union J fans express fury after X Factor boyband CANCELS reunion tour without warning
Fans became furious on Friday after X-Factor band Union J canceled their reunion tour without any public announcement.
The band first rose to fame as a contestant on The X Factor in 2012, where they finished fourth in the competition and later signed a record deal with Sony.
Although the band officially disbanded in 2019, in December 2022 they announced that they would be reuniting for a reunion tour in the spring of 2023.
They were due to perform in Newcastle, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and Liverpool.
But taking to Twitter, one fan was furious after receiving an email saying her ticket to the concert at the Liverpool Empire Theater had been refunded.

The email read: “Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the promoters of the show have made the difficult decision to cancel the performance which was scheduled to take place on June 03, 2023.
“We understand the disappointment this will cause and apologize for any inconvenience.”
Hitting the group, the fan captioned the post: “The silence from them on all of this is actually disrespectful.”
Responding to a comment stating whether it was just for Liverpool or not, she confirmed the cancellation applied to ‘the whole tour’ and said ‘I don’t know why they didn’t say anything’ .
Other fans were also angry, as one wrote, “So Union J is posting on personal accounts but hasn’t said anything about the tour being cancelled!”
Another wrote: “Guys please don’t use the band account on Insta to promote your own stuff when you can’t even give us a reason (yet) why it’s not. ‘There’s no touring. You’re just going to add fuel to the fire.’
“I’m pretty glad I never got tickets if that’s how they do it. I love them but they HAVE TO DEAL with this,” added a third.
A fourth wrote: ‘Not the union I’m canceling their tour and we all find out via Ticketmaster…which kept them from telling us themselves.’

A fifth said: ‘Like union j cancel their tour and they haven’t officially posted anything on their social media???
“After spending all that money and finding out only through Twitter, it’s shameful.”
The group was founded as a quartet on the talent show alongside George Shelley, who left the group in 2016. They were first signed to RCA Records and released their debut single in June 2013.
Stereo Kicks singer and later Ex On The Beach star Casey Johnson, who shares two children with Marnie Simpson, replaced George in 2016 but bosses quickly let him go.
The group was scheduled to perform five special shows in 2023, as part of their reunion tour.
They also had tour dates planned in Newcastle and Glasgow in May – both of which have been cancelled.
Union J representatives have been contacted for comment.
