Unimog Pop-Top Expedition Camper Towers Over All at 11.6 feet tall

Bliss Mobil builds camping modules for a variety of trucks, and the Dutch company has just revealed its most recent. It’s an update to the company’s 11-foot offering with new technology, lightweight construction, and a pop-up roof that increases headroom without sacrificing the compact size of the modules. And the company is showing it on a 435 series Unimog U1300 that will go to a customer soon.

The module can fit a variety of vehicles, but Bliss’ utility pairing looks exquisite. The most significant update is the change from a steel frame to an aluminum frame, which reduces the weight to approximately 3,525 pounds (1,600 kilograms). However, the interior is the real draw because it’s a smart home on wheels with a ton of tech inside.

There is smart smartphone functionality and a 7.0-inch Garmin Overlander touchscreen navigation system that is packed with useful information for campers, which can be moved from the living area to the cabin. Connectivity allows remote control and monitoring of lighting, climate and water. Bliss combines electrical controls with physical backups, while sensors and actuators monitor and protect the vehicle. It also comes with three different heating systems.

Inside, the motorhome can accommodate four people, positioning a fold-out bed above the dinette, which converts into a second sleeping area. A small kitchen next to the dining room includes a two-burner induction cooker, fridge and sink. There is also a wet bath with shower and toilet.

The height of the motorhome is 10 feet (3000 millimeters), but it can extend another 1.6 feet (500 mm), increasing the clear height to 6.5 feet (2000 mm). The whole rig – Unimog and motorhome – weighs less than 7.5 tonnes. The Bliss Mobil starts at € 180,000 ($ 220,000 at the current exchange rate), according to New Atlas. The company ships its modules all over the world.
