Jim and Matt are joined by two card winners from last Saturday and a UFC fan who happens to be one of MLB’s top pitch prospects, in today’s episode of UFC Unfiltered!
First off, Jim and Matt are joined by Jiří Procházka, winner of this weekend’s main event. He shares what it feels like to be on the cusp of a title shot just two fights in his UFC career, how old-school video games inspire his unique fighting style and why he had previously turned down opportunities to join the UFC before finally signing with the organization last year.
Then, after Jim and Matt break down their favorite moments from UFC Fight Night: Reyes vs Procházka, Merab Dvalishvili calls on the series. He explains how knowing his opponent Cody Stamann thought he was better than Merab motivated him to play in their match, how many new followers he had on Instagram after posting a video of him dipping his head the first in a frozen lake, and why he left Frankie Edgar out of his post-fight call of former UFC champions.
Finally, the New York Yankees throwing prospect Clarke Schmidt closes the show. He reviews the fighters who made him a UFC fan, his thoughts on being ready for the compensation brawls on the pitch, why he thinks Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou has to happen, and agrees with Matt that a league of theirs is a great baseball movie.
