Independent uses Telos to record events on the blockchain, protecting the transparency, reliability and ethics of data in the multi-billion dollar AI industry
Unbeased, an award-winning start-up that creates solutions to tackle the ethical challenges of AI and big data, has announced the launch of its Data Marketplace on Telos, one of the world’s most active blockchain platforms. A Bias works to address current challenges facing AI and machine learning, including transparency, bias, and the quality of training data.
The unbiased data marketplace provides decentralized, privacy-centric development tools to businesses working with AI and machine learning applications, including data collection, annotation, tagging, and analysis ; all with blockchain certificates. The project was released in beta in March 2020, has undergone significant upgrades and is now operational for commercial use.

Today, most data set generation tools for training machine learning algorithms and supervised AI are centralized, without transparency in the process. Freelance uses the Telos blockchain to track actions on the Data Marketplace platform, including the creation of projects and tasks, worker contributions, and data exchange. Unbias chose Telos because of its out-of-the-box governance engine, Telos Decide, which can be easily integrated into corporate workflows.
“Non-biased uses the Telos blockchain to improve transparency and integrity, allowing users to trust and validate whether their dataset annotations meet defined requirements,” said Sukesh Tedla, Founder and CEO of Unbias . “In addition to the obvious appeal of Telos’ powerful governance tools and low operational costs, we share a mission with Telos to build a new global economy focused on decentralization and trust.”
The global AI market is expected to reach $ 266 billion by 2027. According to IDC, global spending on AI is expected to double in four years, to reach $ 110 billion by 2024. Gartner research has revealed that organizations deploying AI have gone from 4% to 14% in the last two years. The growing adoption of AI has raised concerns about privacy, fairness and transparency. Powerful entities like the European Union are studying the profound implications of AI and how best to address it.

“Intersections are always where the most interesting and dynamic developments occur and blockchain intersections, and AI and machine learning will be a prime example. A bias will show these industries how logging data on a high performance, no-cost blockchain like Telos can add transparency, immutability, micropayments and governance into their products for the benefit of all stakeholders. Said Douglas Horn, chief architect of Telos Blockchain. “Perhaps the most immediate benefit will be the ability of individuals to make money by better providing, preparing and validating AI datasets, dramatically increasing their value to industry and creating a new option for make money in these tough economic times. ”
The unbiased data marketplace is supported by Unbias WorkForce, a crowdsourced platform with data collection and annotation tools needed to source AI and ML datasets. At launch, the platform supports more than 20 types of projects and tasks. Students and Professionals can contribute and earn money by signing up for Unbias through the App Store, Google Play, or the web app, completing qualifying tasks, and working on paid tasks. The first sets of tasks are live at launch with initial projects focusing on data collection and audio transcription.
