The United Kingdom and the United States have ruled out sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
Downing Street said it was “impractical” to send them to Ukraine to bolster its fight against Russia.
While US President Joe Biden said “no” when asked by a reporter if he would send F-16s to the front line, and confirmed that Washington would not give any of the jets to Kyiv.

It comes after Ukrainian officials stepped up calls for allies to donate advanced warplanes so they can control their airspace.
They are currently using old soviet era jets.
Some fear that sending such technology will escalate the conflict and be perceived by Russia as NATO countries entering the war by proxy.
Speaking on Tuesday, the Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: ‘British Typhoon and F-35 fighter jets are extremely sophisticated and take months to learn to fly. It is impractical to send these planes to Ukraine.
“We will continue to provide and accelerate our military support to Ukraine and listen carefully to their requests.
“It’s the time it takes to learn how to use very complex equipment that is the limiting factor in this case, but we will explore what more we can do to support Ukraine.”
On Monday, Britain’s defense secretary said he was keeping an open mind about joining any future jet-supplying coalition.

Ben Wallace told parliament there was a history of countries saying they wouldn’t send arms and then giving in.
French President Emmanuel Macron also did not rule out the possibility, but said certain conditions would have to be met.
Ukraine’s defense minister is likely to make his case for jets during his visit to France this week.
There were also “positive signals” from Poland, according to Ukraine‘s top presidential adviser.
The renewed call for jets follows an agreement last week by Western allies to donate dozens of tanks to the war.
America and Germany said they would put more than 40in addition to the 14 promised by the United Kingdom and the 74 pledged by Poland.

However, it is believed that it could be several months before some of them are delivered and can enter the battle.
Billions of pounds of weapons and small arms have already been donated to the country, but Ukraine has said modern tanks are key to fending off Russia and reclaiming territory.
