averaging 18.1 points per game and 7.3 rebounds
ORLANDO, FLORIDA – The UCF men’s basketball program announced another new addition on Friday, signing Junior College All-American Tyem Freeman to the fold for the 2021-22 campaign.
“We are delighted to bring Tyem to the UCF family,” said head coach Johnny Dawkins. “He’s a versatile player and a great athlete. He can make a difference at both ends of the field and can play for himself and for others. Tyem will be a major asset to our program. “
Freeman was named the National Junior College Association of America’s first All-American team as a rookie at Indian Hills Community College last season.
The 6-foot-6 guard was the only freshman to take home honors, averaging 18.1 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per fight while shooting 52.2 percent from the field.
A native of Springfield, Missouri, Freeman led Indian Hills to a 21-3 record, one Region XI championship and one no. 6 general classification in first year. He will join the Knights in second year, but will technically have four years of eligibility due to the extra year COVID-19.
He joins Ed’Xavior Rhodes, PJ Edwards and Darius Johnson in the 2021-22 recruiting class at UCF.
