In April, Joyce suffered the first defeat of his career against Zhang who beat him for six rounds before referee Howard Foster stopped the fight to prevent “The Juggernaut” from suffering further damage to his badly swollen eye. .
“He was beaten as I thought he would be. Me and Shane [Fury] I thought Zhang was going to beat him,” Fury told Queensberry Promotions ahead of the rematch.
“I thought Joe would have to get up a few times and get the win back. Maybe, if he took a few turns from him. Obviously he didn’t and he got beat.”
“The Gypsy King” publicly offered to face Joyce in his final camp and even suggested he had some tactical advice for his compatriot.

However, the Olympic silver medalist never made it to Fury’s gym and boxing’s top big man expressed concern about Joyce’s ability to avenge his only defeat.
He added: “I told Joe, live on the internet, that if you come to Morecambe Bay I will almost guarantee you a victory over Zhang. But he didn’t, he went to Vegas.
“You can’t help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. That’s how it is.”
“Another tough fight. 50/50. But we should favor the champion, because on the one hand, he has just beaten him, eliminated him, and on the other hand, his confidence will be high knowing that he can win. Before he wasn’t sure, now he knows.

“If Joe had come all the way to Morecambe Bay he would have crushed Zhang.
“Now I’m not so sure. You have to favor the Chinese, only because he’s already beaten him once, and if [Joyce] if he follows the same path in the next fight, he will beat him again.
Both Zhang and Joyce want a shot at Fury’s heavyweight title.
Before that can happen, the Manchester man must first dispose of former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in their clash in Saudi Arabia on October 28.
Only then can Fury start thinking about who his next defense will be against.
