If Deontay Wilder wants another chance against WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, ‘The Gypsy King’ only sees it one way.
Wilder and Fury concluded an epic rivalry in October 2021, when the Brit knocked out his American counterpart in a trilogy bout in front of a sold-out crowd at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The first fight between the two men ended in a controversial draw, with many believing Fury should have been given the nod, but he got his revenge in the rematch by scoring an eleventh-round knockout.
It looked like it was the end between Wilder and Fury, but now the ‘Bronze Bomber’ has come out saying he can’t rule out a fourth fight.
“I think there’s definitely a chance of a fourth fight again,” Wilder told Sky Sports.
“Boxing is a business. A lot of people call it a sport, but it’s not a sport.
“The heavyweight division is very small. I’m still a big fish in the business, especially here in America.
“As long as we’re all in the same division and we’re all still fighting right now, why not? It can only lead to this. With all of that being said, it’s definitely a possibility.
Fury had a short and sweet response to Wilder’s comments, posting to his Instagram Story with the caption, “Man looking for another a** whooping.”
As it stands, Fury has only just called off a potential ‘Battle of Britain’ clash with Anthony Joshua, despite the duo agreeing to fight on December 3 with a 60/40 split.
Fury then set Joshua a deadline of Monday, September 26 at 5 p.m. to sign the contract, but AJ missed the deadline and ‘The Gypsy King’ subsequently called off the fight.
Now Fury has turned his attention to 37-year-old former WBA “regular” champion Mahmoud Charr, much to the disappointment of boxing fans and pundits alike.
