Tyson Fury has now publicly stated that he will not be fighting Anthony Joshua next.
The Gypsy King gave AJ a 5 p.m. deadline on Monday to sign the contract for their fight, but as time went on, no papers were inked.
“Well guys it’s official D-Day has passed,” Fury said on social media.
“It passed 5 p.m. on Monday, no contract was signed.
“It’s officially over for Joshua, he’s now out in the cold with the wolf pack.
“Forget it, idiot, coward, s*** house, bodybuilder.
“He always knew it, he always knew he didn’t have the minerals to fight the Gypsy King.
“No matter what you say now, I don’t care. Good luck in your career and in your life, end of peace.
Fury called Joshua earlier this month, despite his back-to-back defeats, after hearing Oleksandr Usyk would not be ready to face him until early 2023.
AJ accepted the call and agreed to all of the terms Fury offered.
These included a 60/40 split in favor of the champion, a 50/50 rematch clause and a proposed date of December 3 at the Principality Stadium.
The pair have been in contract stages with their teams going back and forth to try to finalize a deal over the past week.
However, these things understandably take time and – with a double broadcast deal between BT Sport and DAZN still to be settled – no contract has been signed.
Over the weekend, Fury said he had lost his patience and would instead face Mahmoud Charr on December 3 if Joshua did not sign on Monday.
AJ insisted on Sunday that he would sign the contract and his promoter Eddie Hearn warned that Monday would come too soon for anything to be done in the deal.
That sudden deadline was missed and Fury is now adamant that he is moving on.
