Great British golfer Tyrrell Hatton has tested positive for coronavirus and has withdrawn from this week’s Valspar Championship in Florida.
Hatton is the fourth player to retire after testing positive, after Austria’s Sepp Straka and Americans Will Gordon and Brice Garnett.
The world number eight, 29, teamed up with compatriot England Danny Willett in the pairs event in New Orleans last week.
It has not been confirmed whether Willett will need to be absent from the event.
“Hatton will have the full support of the PGA Tour throughout his period of self-isolation as directed by the CDC,” said the PGA Tour.
CDC – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – is the United States’ national public health agency.
The opening round begins Thursday at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor.
