The TrueCar and Roadster program marks the first step in TrueCar’s journey to leverage data exchanges and technology integrations with digital retail providers such as Roadster to enhance the car buying experience. This approach modernizes data exchange through API integrations built by partners such as Roadster, as opposed to the limited legacy messaging methods currently in use. This improvement solves the issues for consumers and dealers that make it easier to buy cars, eliminating unnecessary friction between buyers and sellers.
Consumers using TrueCar and Roadster integration can now pick up the dealership express storefront where it left off on TrueCar, without having to repeat any steps. The consumer will see the same price of the vehicle, the same eligible incentives and the same lease / finance terms as they have set up and presented on TrueCar (subject to validation of the information provided by the consumer). For dealers, this not only ensures that they have all the relevant inputs to the consumer’s transaction structure, but also makes the process even more efficient by feeding the information directly into the dealer’s Roadster Admin sales tool for a easy tracking.

How it works:
- Once a car buyer has built and personalized their offer on a vehicle on TrueCar, they have the option of entering the “Express Store” of participating Roadster powered dealerships, to finalize the terms of their transaction.
- All construction work of vehicle contracts configured by the TrueCar buyer is transferred from TrueCar into “Roadster Admin” for easy tracking. The dealership no longer has to cross-reference or ask customers questions they’ve already answered about TrueCar. This puts customers and dealers on the same page, reducing friction.
- The consumer can finalize the terms of his agreement with the dealer online or offline.
