This collaboration takes an important step towards driving a global transformation towards decentralized clinical research.
Triall’s eClinical platform will support a 2-year multicenter pulmonary arterial hypertension trial that includes 10 research sites* and more than 500 patients across the United States, beginning in September of this year. Triall’s eClinical solutions will support all essential trial activities, including data capture, document management, study tracking and electronic consent.
The collaboration takes a unique angle by demonstrating how Triall’s verifiable evidence API can be applied to create immutable audit trails recorded in the blockchain as a new best practice for strengthening end-to-end clinical data integrity , from the start of the study to the end of the study – outside and post-study activities. With more and more data being collected from an increasing number and variety of systems and devices, ensuring data integrity is a growing concern for clinical trial stakeholders and a major obstacle to a reliable and efficient medical research in the digital age.
The audit trail will provide a system-agnostic interface for investigators, monitors, IRBs, regulators and other trial stakeholders to quickly assess the existence and integrity of related documents and data on trial, as well as their chronology in the study process. This venture provides a platform for additional potential collaboration between Mayo Clinic and Triall toward an evidence-based environment for decentralized clinical research, while strengthening their mutual positions as thought leaders in trial innovation clinics.
