Trevoh Chalobah was among the senior Chelsea players who had the chance to impress new manager Graham Potter during the international break.
Potter began his life quietly as Blues boss after two postponed Premier League matches were quickly followed by an international break.
The former Brighton manager had the opportunity to watch his side for the 1-1 draw with RB Salzburg on September 14.
But despite being in the hot seat for 19 days, it’s Potter’s only competitive game so far.
With the vast majority of his squad on international duty, the Englishman hasn’t even been able to put together a normal training regimen.
However, an unconventional month could have proved beneficial for Chelsea players who weren’t called up by their country.
The Blues released footage from training at Cobham on Monday and featured Chalobah, new signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, along with a number of academy players.
Despite breaking into the first team under Thomas Tuchel, Chalobah has recently fallen out of favor despite evident holes in the Chelsea defence.
It is understood he was deployed as a midfielder in a behind-closed-doors friendly Potter oversaw earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Aubameyang failed to impress in Potter’s opener, and many believe signing the former Arsenal striker from Barcelona was Tuchel’s idea.
His presence on the training ground can give an advantage over Kai Havertz, who scored twice for Germany in their 3-3 draw with England on Monday.
Loftus-Cheek, who has been forced to settle for a small role at Chelsea in recent years, will also be grateful for the opportunity to make an impression.
