Hours before the start of Super Bowl LVIII, Travis Kelce gave a speech that left his teammates in tears.
Kelce’s pregame speech was reportedly so powerful that it was described as “incredible” as the Kansas City Chiefs took on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in Las Vegas.
“Chiefs coach Andy Reid had Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones speak to the team (Saturday) night at the hotel,” Albert Breer said. tweeted.
“Everyone was great. Kelce in particular – ‘incredible’ and ‘powerful’, according to those in the room, to the point that some teammates were moved to tears.”
Breer added: “Another coach responded to me about Travis Kelce’s speech: ‘Not even close. Best speech I’ve ever heard.’ “
While the 49ers are favored, Kansas City has the experience factor.
The Chiefs are also the defending Super Bowl champions.
But it’s star power that could separate Kansas City, with Mahomes and Kelce forming one of the league’s best 1-2s.
Kelce’s stats were poor during the regular season, but it’s clear the 34-year-old tight end doesn’t want to pass up another championship opportunity.
By 7 p.m., team buses were heading toward Allegiant Stadium as media coverage intensified.
Kelce had already made a huge impact, giving a moving speech at the Chiefs hotel that would be remembered for years to come if Kansas City prevailed in the big game again.
Add to that the fact that Taylor Swift’s plane was tracked from Japan to the United States and Kelce is in the thick of Super Bowl LVIII.
He is a pregame MVP candidate and could have already inspired the Chiefs to back-to-back world championships.
