Fringe Chelsea players like Callum Hudson-Odoi and Conor Gallagher will spark a frantic race at the end of the transfer window for their services.
A host of Premier League clubs including Newcastle, West Ham, Everton and Bournemouth have kept domestic loan slots available in hopes of raiding Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea will allow Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic to leave if they can strengthen their own squad in the final fortnight.
Newcastle are particularly keen to sign England international Gallagher should the opportunity arise.
Other Blues stars who are attracting interest are Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Armando Broja, who are both on West Ham’s radar.
WEST HAM PLOT BURNLEY RAID
West Ham’s so far ill-fated attempts to sign a new left-back could see them move for Burnley defender Charlie Taylor.
The Hammers tried to sign a contest for Aaron Cresswell all summer, but deals for Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic and Chelsea’s Emerson both fell through.
They believe cash-strapped Burnley may be willing to sell Taylor by the time the window closes on September 1.
Maxwel Cornet has already moved from Turf Moor to London Stadium and can play as a full-back, but manager David Moyes wants to use him further forward.
LEICESTER HARBOR VARDY HOPE
Leicester are hoping Jamie Vardy will sign a new contract despite shocking interest from Manchester United.
Veteran Vardy, who turns 36 in January, has been considered by United as they seek to bolster their attack following the terrible start to the Erik ten Hag era.
But the owners of Leicester’s King Power are determined to keep the Premier League title-winning hero.
Talks to extend Vardy’s deal, which expires next summer, for another year are already well advanced.
RALPH SUPPORTED BY THE SAINTS
Southampton’s pursuit of £25million-rated Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos is proof the club’s owners are still backing manager Ralph Hasenhuttl despite allegations of dressing room unrest.
Saints are working on a club record deal to bring 21-year-old Portuguese hitman Ramos, also tracked by Wolves, to St Mary’s Stadium.
The ambitious attempt is a show of faith in Hasenhuttl, who was mocked by chants of “sacked in the morning” from his own fans when the Saints were down 2-0 at home to Leeds last weekend.
talkSPORT understands there is no appetite among the Saints hierarchy to change managers at this stage after replacing virtually all of their backroom staff in the summer.
Hasenhuttl’s relationship with his players, especially those outside his starting XI, has been called into question after a poor 1-in-15 win streak.
