Tottenham are planning to sign John McGinn this summer as they prepare for a busy few months in the transfer market.
Antonio Conte’s men are just one game away from securing Champions League football next season, with a draw against Norwich on Sunday enough to see them beat fourth-place Arsenal.
If they achieve this goal, funds should be provided to enable them to strengthen.
And according to the Daily Telegraph, the Aston Villa star is one of Conte’s top targets. The report adds that Spurs are targeting around six new arrivals ahead of the start of the 2022/23 season.
McGinn has been widely linked with a number of top Premier League clubs after an impressive spell at Villa Park.
Manchester United were one of the clubs interested in the January transfer window, and now Spurs could test the waters with a bid for the player who has three years left on his Villa Park deal.
Dejan Kulusevski and Cristian Romero are set to join on permanent deals this summer, while Paulo Dybala has also been linked with a move to north London by an Italian journalist. Giovani Albanian.
The striker is out of contract this summer and with an almost confirmed Juventus departure.

Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with the player, who has also been linked with Inter Milan and Roma. Spurs’ presence in the Champions League would certainly give them an edge over Arsenal and Roma.
Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan has urged Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to back Conte should they step up in the future.
Speaking on White and Jordan, he said: “It’s a huge opportunity, it is what it is.
“They squandered a huge opportunity in 2019. Whether they squandered it because they wanted to build a new stadium and redirected the finances there, or they squandered it because they lost trust in Mauricio Pochettino, or whether they squandered it because Daniel is a cheapskate, the bottom line is that they lost an opportunity.
“They still have it.
“They have a real one, live, in Conte. I don’t always like him, I don’t always like the way he operates in the media sometimes, but he is the modern football manager. They seem to be able to do what they want, when they want and how they want.
“They can walk on water and every failure is someone else’s responsibility and every success is theirs. But it’s the real thing, so they have to support him if you want him to win something.
Jordan also told talkSPORT he feels silverware is imminent for Spurs with Conte at the helm – as long as Levy pulls out his checkbook this summer.
“I believe Tottenham can win something under this manager,” added Jordan.
“What does that victory look like, whether it’s the League Cup, the FA Cup, a Europa League if they’re knocked out of the Champions League, or something bigger in the years to come, I think they have one live here and it’s up to Daniel to take that £40-50m of Champions League money, and hopefully that’s not all a bonus for the players.
“Let’s say £40-50m comes from the Champions League and that’s on top of the £50m, £60m, £70m, £80m he would have could have been ready to give it to him – hopefully Spurs spend £150m and give this guy some proper tools.
