Tottenham could face competition from Real Madrid for Julian Nagelsmann if they decide to target RB Leipzig boss if they sack Jose Mourinho.
Reports on Tuesday suggest Mourinho could run out of time at Spurs after a poor run of results that left them ninth in the Premier League.
Nagelsmann has been touted as a possible target, but talkSPORT has been told that will not happen until the end of the season.
The north London club could then fight to sign the German, who impressed in Leipzig.
“It certainly wouldn’t happen until the end of the season. He’s the kind of guy who really enjoys staying until the end of the season and he made Leipzig a whole season wait before he left Hoffenheim to go there, ”Kevin Hatchard told talkSPORT.
“He is really a man of his word in this sense. I think he’s watching the Premier League, I don’t think there is any doubt about that.
“Chelsea had it on their list as well and is naturally highly rated. He’s an intelligent guy, very good tactically, very good in terms of managing men.
“He’s been in the senior coaching world since he was 28 and it takes a bit of a mess to deal with guys older than you and tell them what.
“I was overwhelmingly impressed with him. A lot of clubs will watch him if Zinedine Zidane got the push at Real Madrid.
“Real would come back for him, so it might just be a question for Tottenham who else is going for him.
“He has a difficult position in Leipzig. He wants them to win trophies, he wants to move the team forward but he knows what the financial reality is in terms of FFP and he knows that Timo Werner is gone, Dayot Upamecano leaves at the end of the season.
“It’s hard to put together a team if your best stars leave every summer.”
