Northern Irish teenager Tom McKibbin scored a hole-in-one in his second round of the DP World Tour at the South African Open.
Holywood native McKibbin, who hails from the same County Down town as world number one Rory McIlroy, hit an ace on the par three 11th hole.
The 19-year-old is tied for seventh after shooting a five-under 67 in his first round in Johannesburg.
South African Thriston Lawrence leads his home test with eight cents.
England’s Ross Fisher is one stroke behind, as is Sweden’s Jens Fahrbring, who launched a late charge to enter the race.
McKibbin, who only earned his DP World Tour card in November, hit his hole-in-one on the 11th from 224 yards as his tee shot returned home after landing on the green.
The teenager started with two bogeys in his first three holes but responded with four birdies, as well as his ace, to start strong.
At age 15, McKibbin scored an ace en route to winning the men’s title at the inaugural Major Champions Invitational for junior golfers. He was playing for McIlroy’s team in the tournament, which was supported by Florida’s Nick Faldo.
