Tom Holland missed the 2024 Met Gala in New York on Monday as he recovers from a minor head injury suffered while playing golf.
The actor’s girlfriend Zendaya, 27, was one of the co-chairs of this year’s event, with fans expecting the Spider-Man: No Way Home star to join her .
However, on the same day, he shared an Instagram story showing a red bruise on the top of his forehead, which he had picked up during a round of golf in Scotland late last month.
“Whoever said golf isn’t a contact sport is full of bullshit. You can almost see the dimples,” he wrote in the photo.
Even though he wasn’t there, Tom supported his other half via social media, sharing snaps of two of the four outfits she wore during the night and adding three heart-eye emojis in his caption.

On Sunday, he shared an Instagram story showing a red bruise on the top of his forehead, which he picked up during a round of golf in Scotland late last month.
Although he didn’t attend the Met Gala to support his girlfriend Zendaya, 27, Tom praised her fashion-forward outfits in a social media post with heart emojis.
Tom also tagged his father Dominic Holland’s Patreon page in the snap of his bruise, linking to a post in which Dominic shared a funny story about how the injury happened.
Dominic shared that “a golf ball hit his head,” although he added that it wasn’t a serious injury.
“Actually, he was hit by a sand wedge at 80 yards, but by a scratch golfer who should have known better and frankly been more precise,” he continued.
“The offending player was Alex Roberts, a close friend of Tom’s… unaware that his most important and valuable friend was on the green to his left.”
‘[Tom was] So I’m lucky to be playing in Scotland (the land of golf) in April, when woolen hats are mandatory for survival,” his father joked.
He then added that his son had been “sent to the hospital for some checks.”
