“Can we just say how awesome the BBC is,” Hanks added.
“Now you’re not going to have this live every night in the United States,” the actor continued, referring to the wholesomeness of the daily wildlife show.

The American star took on the role of Colonel Tom Parker – Elvis Presley’s manager – for Baz Luhrmann’s biopic about the King, simply titled Elvis.

Showing at Cannes, the film focuses on the complicated relationship between Parker and Elvis, spanning two decades. Hanks stars alongside Butler in the lead role, along with Olivia DeJonge, Kodi Smit-McPhee and stranger things‘ Dacre Montgomery rounds out the cast.
Recently, the actor weighed in on the Colonel’s background – he was Dutch and his real name was Andreas Cornelis van Kuijk – following criticism over his heavy accent in the role.
“In terms of his background, I don’t think anyone knew the Colonel’s background. There are extraordinary, tabloid and melodramatic stories about why and how he left Holland,” Hanks said. “I’d like to think, yeah, he was running from some aspect of his past and escaping his small town, and who among us wouldn’t jump at the chance to do just that?”
Elvis hits theaters on June 24.
