Movie buffs have recommended a Tom Hanks film that is often overlooked in his vast catalog of brilliant films.

Tom Hanks is an acting powerhouse and I will say that off my chest.

From helplessly screaming “Wilson” to explaining life lessons in a box of chocolates and living in an airport for a year, Tom Hanks has established himself as an acting powerhouse.

However, with such an impressive filmography including the likes of Captain Phillips, toy story, And A beautiful day in the neighborhoodsometimes really good films can get lost.

And some moviegoers praised a classic Hank that some fans might have missed.

If you’re still not sure what movie they’re talking about, I’ll give you a hint: Hanks stars alongside Michael Clarke Duncan in the film, who also treats viewers to an emotional and heartbreaking performance.

Well I’ll put you out of your misery, the film is directed by Frank Darabont The green Line released in 1999, based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name.

Hanks plays Paul Edgecomb, commander of a death row cell block in a Louisiana penitentiary in 1932.

Edgecomb realizes that the gentle giant John Coffey, played by Duncan, has a gift for healing people and tries to avoid his execution.

The green Line was well received by fans and critics alike – with the film maintaining an impressive score of 8.6 after over 1.4 million reviews on IMDb, while on Rotten Tomatoes it holds a Tomatometer score of 79 percent and a incredible audience score of 94 percent after more than 250,000 ratings.

And speaking on the Netflix Bangers Facebook page, many fans pointed out that the film is so “brilliant” that it often leaves them in a pool of tears.

“One of the saddest movies for me, it was so sad but also a great movie!” one user wrote.

“I could watch it a thousand times and it still makes me cry.”

“This is my favorite movie of all time. I can watch it over and over and cry like a baby every time,” said another.

“I watched it once. I don’t think I could go through that again. However, I remember most of it because there were a lot of great scenes.

A third said: “I’ve watched this about 10 times and it hits me every time, a brilliant masterpiece.”

I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a real cinematic experience.

So if you feel like putting your emotions in a blender, it might be worth finding a way to watch one of Hank’s best films.
