When it comes to power couples in Hollywood, two names always seem to come to mind, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.
On April 30, the legendary actor took to social media to celebrate a monumental milestone. Two of Hollywood’s most famous people, Hanks and Wilson, have been married for 36 years.
This is a feat you don’t often see in this world. And yet, the beloved couple manages to make their envied marriage work year after year.
“1988?” April 30? Great deeds. The couple Wilson & Hanks became wife and husband. 36 years! Nothing but love since,” the actor wrote, signing his caption “Hanx.”
The major milestone comes just days after Wilson debuted his new song “Set You Free.” “New record from my favorite singer-songwriter,” he shared.
Wilson also shared a message on their 36th wedding anniversary, writing: “36th anniversary! April 30, 1988.” She then added a quote from Robert Browning: “Grow old with me; the best is still to come.”
“Smiles say it all,” one commenter wrote. “Happy birthday!!!”
Over the past 36 years, the couple has built an incredible life together. They are parents to four children, two of whom are from Hanks’ first marriage, and now they are grandparents to three grandchildren.
In 2023, Hanks and Wilson shared their tips and tricks for being great-grandparents while chatting with Entertainment Tonight. According to Wilson, it’s all about staying active.
“You have to get on the trampoline with them, you have to go in the pool with them, you have to go to the tennis court, you have to do all the sports. You just have to get out.
While Hanks says it’s all about what can be done in the kitchen. “You have to make their macaroni and cheese perfectly,” he admitted.
Last year, on their anniversary, Wilson wrote “love is everything.”
