Tom Cruise, 60, beams as he heads to dinner in London at The Twenty Two restaurant

Tom Cruise appeared to be in high spirits as he stepped out in London for The Twenty Two restaurant on Monday night.

The A-list actor, 60, smiled as he donned a black polo shirt with dark blue jeans and black boots on the evening outing, with his brunette locks parted to the side.

He donned a silver watch as he waved to onlookers ahead of his exit to the upscale establishment.

Cruise reprized the role of Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell in the summer flick Top Gun: Maverick, which is the actor’s first billion-dollar movie, grossing over $1.28 billion in the world, according to Box Office Mojo.

The $635 million in domestic totals the film earned in the United States make it the ninth-highest-grossing film of all time, behind 2015’s Jurassic World with $653 million and 1997’s Titanic with $659 million.

Exhibitor Relations Co. Jeff Bock spoke to CNBC about the film’s enduring success since its May 25 theatrical release, noting that “there just wasn’t a lot of product out there” in theaters as the film industry continues to rebuild after the pandemic shut down.

Bock said “movies that were well-received, that had good word of mouth, really stuck around longer,” like Top Gun: Maverick’s gradual declines in gross percentage were “in the teens and 20s and 30s” every week, Bock said.

“What Top Gun did was hold that audience week after week, which we just haven’t seen in the blockbuster era,” Bock said.

The Tinseltown stalwart is looking to revisit box office highs with a pair of high-profile sequels he’s been working on, as he reprises his role as Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One and Part Two .

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning – Part One is tentatively set to hit theaters next July, while Top Gun: Maverick is currently in theaters.
