Iowa State’s season ended Saturday in Knoxville with an 80-73 loss to 12th seed Toledo in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Tournament. The Cyclones finished 24-69 in shooting (35%). The team took 31 3s and only made 6. Ashley Joens, in the last game of his legendary Cyclones career, led the team with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Toledo led by as much as 15 points in the second half. ISU cut the lead to 6 over a jumper Lexi Donarski midway through the fourth quarter, but never got any closer than that. Quinesha Lockett of Toledo was the star of the game with 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. ISU, ranked 17th in the nation, finished the season with a 22-10 record.
