She was like, ‘did your son just ask you if you have drugs in the house? ?’ I said, ‘Katy, he’s asking for deer pee,’ and she said, ‘like animal urine?’ I was like, ‘yeah, what do we use to bring in the big bucks.’ I feel sorry for her and Lionel and for the rural education they must be getting from me.

Mark Burnett Leaves MGM, Producer Pledges Return to ‘Independent Creation and Innovation’ – Mark Burnett has officially resigned from his senior role at MGM, a move that comes 10 months after Amazon closed its $8.5 billion acquisition of the studio. Burnett’s departure from the MGM fold comes as no surprise. The producer, known for enduring unscripted hits including CBS’ “Survivor,” NBC’s “The Voice” and ABC’s “Shark Tank,” hasn’t been a conventional television executive in his nine years with MGM and was not to stay after selling it. In a memo to MGM staffers, Burnett said he intended to pursue new ventures as a producer. He also stressed that he was working hard to ensure that the approximately 150 employees of MGM TV are offered positions after the sale of Amazon. – Learn more about Variety
