Timeline of XFL update since bankruptcy sale, latest from Dany Garcia – XFL News Hub

Recently we have had very few substantial league updates. But when you look at the whole picture, given that the plan is not set to play until 2023, we’ve been kept abreast of the constant work going on.

Beginning just after the league purchase was made official on September 1, the three-part group announced plans to release version 3. From that initial report, we mentioned:

“Buying a company out of bankruptcy takes time, not to mention an entire professional football league worth millions. Fear not, there is some action, but it’s all happening behind the scenes right now. “

On October 27, 2020, the report was released in which Garcia went into a bit more detail about plans for the future. Of course, that was before any discussion of a possible XFL-CFL merger, but here’s what was said about the work being done at the time:

We are currently doing a download with the players and our coaches to see what really worked and what didn’t, and if there were anything a little difficult.

Making sure they accurately account for everyone involved takes time, and the last thing you want from a league playing in the spring is to be rushed and make mistakes. This seemed to be clue number 2 that things were going to take a while.

On February 1, 2021, another announcement was released, Garcia detailed his way of building the league and how important it was to integrate his past business ventures into the sport and use that experience to help create the best. version of the XFL possible. Showing once again that rushing into the pitch was not a priority.

“Football is a sport that doesn’t have the idea of taking care of everyone involved or the responsibility of how that experience is for the fan or the audience. All of my passion, perspective and expertise is taking care of people. It advances the human experience. So the XFL is the larger-scale opportunity that I have to use everything I’ve done so far to have an incredible impact on people – to really get in there, create amazing gameplay, and deliver the excellence in football, but also bring a female interpretation of excellence in football.

The next announcement came in March 2021, announcing discussions with the CFL. These talks have never left the boardroom, and the NDAs prevent people from talking about what’s going on inside these offices, and we know they ended without a deal. But we do know from CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie that discussions could continue from this statement:

“We both decided and agreed that we would go back to our respective businesses and focus on our own leagues, for now. We have no plans to reconnect. But because the relationship was positive, the door was left open for the possibility of us talking to each other again later. But today and for the foreseeable future, it is all the time CFL.

It was also released shortly after the league was planning a return to the pitch in 2023.

On June 8, 2021 released a statement from Garcia on how being the first female owner of a major sports league has changed her life. She also mentioned how seriously they take the business and make the most of what they have in store for fans.

“The enormity of the relaunch of this league combined with the complex strategy and execution of partnerships that we cultivate to benefit our athletes and our audience is an event that has a humbling 24/7 impact. to see that following my passions has had such a positive impact in the lives of others. It gives me great pleasure to hear that this acquisition has inspired others to take a leap into their own ceras.

Subtle hints have never been out of the ordinary for the XFL, especially the league faces – Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia – so it’s no surprise that these Instagram photos with the little references pop up every now and then. time.

Perhaps the biggest news to come out was an interview with managing partner Rob Klein on the In Visible podcast, in which Klein details the reasons why the league is moving so slowly, to make sure none error is made, the good partners are obtained, and the promises are not given, and taken away:

“We delayed it, clearly to make sure the foundations are in place. When I say foundations we are talking about things like media rights and distribution and sponsorship and franchising in different markets and what families or institutions may want to participateeaten duty free.

And then the last little hint from Dany, who continues to show that they work on a regular basis:

Dwayne and Dany might be the faces of the league, but RedBird Capital is the bank. They will control the discovery of what will happen once the XFL starts.

And is one of the rumors I’ve heard about the USFL downsizing workouts from 5 to 2, playing in central cities like the Spring League, and pushing the news from September to October, taking the slow approach is probably the best decision that could’ve been made.

So while it looks like we haven’t gotten much news from the league, the problem could be that we didn’t get the news we wanted to hear. Because there have been regular updates. I would just continue to be patient. No need to rush just yet.
