Tim Ross has praised his former Triple J co-host Merrick Watts amid rumors the couple have been mired in a longstanding feud for years.
The 36-year-old, whose radio show with Merrick was once one of Australia’s most popular, confirmed on Saturday that he had ‘not spoken’ to the comedian for a long time – but had what great things to say about his former colleague.
“ The only thing that remains constant between us is how incredibly proud we are of what we have achieved in the last few years, ” he told the Daily Telegraph.

Merrick, 46, and Rosso joined forces on Triple J in 1998 and last worked together on Triple M in 2009.
“ Those first shows that we did together – creating it all out of thin air – it’s really the most exciting time of your career, when things move on that upward trajectory, ” he said.
Asked about Merrick’s successful stint on SAS Australia, Tim gently added: “ He did well, didn’t he. ”
In the same interview, Tim also revealed his new show that is coming soon to ABC.
Designing A Legacy – which is adapted from his stage show and explores Sydney’s unknown architecture – will air early next year.

It comes after Merrick himself discussed his take on the couple’s “ feud ” on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
“There’s never been an explosive explosion or anything like that. To be honest, I think you are walking away, he said.
He then compared their friendship to an “intense relationship”.
“Rosso and I not only worked together, we drank together, we socialized together… you spent all your time in each other’s pockets.
He added, “ We did tour after tour, radio shows, TV shows, we wrote books, we did everything you could do other than make a feature film. ”

When they separated in 2009, Merrick said: ‘It has nothing to do with Rosso and I don’t like myself. No fight, no carry-on, there is nothing like it.
In April, Merrick appeared on Hughesy, We Have a Problem and said he still had a grudge against Rosso.
He said a “communication problem” related to the money caused their breakup.
He claimed the couple were offered ‘a huge amount of money’ to reform Merrick and Rosso in November 2018, but Tim brushed off the opportunity.

“To be completely honest, there is a grudge. I’ve held a grudge for a while now, ”he admitted.
Merrick said he and Tim hadn’t spoken for almost two years after asking his former co-host if they wanted to meet to discuss an “ extraordinary offer ” to get back together.
He said a radio station offered them “ more money than [they’d] never seen before in their 20 years in the business.
Merrick claimed Tim had said he would call him back after his hair cut, but “ he never called me back – and that was in November 2018! ”
Responding to these claims, Tim told Daily Mail Australia at the time: ‘From what I can understand from my mate Johnnie who is the PE of [Hughesy, We Have a Problem], Mez told a funny story on television.
“ He is, and always has been, an exceptional comedian and I’m sure the story was hilarious. If he called me f ** khead on Q&A on the other hand, I’d be on the phone with David Anderson at ABC and ask for an apology.
