David Bailey has come to define the Swinging Sixties with his iconic black and white images of pop stars, models, politicians and royalty.
And now Snapper is making waves again with his first 1980s fashion photography book, which will feature plenty of never-before-seen images of the models of the day.
“This is my first book of my fashion photographs,” he tells me. “ I don’t know why I’ve never made one before, but it took a while to put this one together. ”
David Bailey to start over with his first fashion photography book dedicated to the 1980s
Bailey and his team sifted through dozens of boxes of negatives and contact sheets stored in his London studio and in his two West Country warehouses where he has a home.
“I tell the fashions of the decade,” he explains.
“ I haven’t decided on a title yet but the book will include Jerry Hall, Christy Turlington, [ex-wife] Marie Helvin, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and my [fourth] married Catherine Bailey (née Dyer). ”
The talkative East Ender is renowned for his insatiable appetite for the opposite sex.
Despite his four marriages and his many girlfriends, he is still in contact and remains friends with them all. “I get along with all my ex-wives,” insists the 83-year-old snapper.

The marriage to his first wife, typist Rosemary Bramble, lasted for five years ending in 1964. He then married French actress Catherine Deneuve in 1965, which ended in 1972.
Then he married the American model Marie Helvin in 1975, which lasted ten years. Bailey has amassed 35 years of marriage, so far, to model Catherine, who at 59 is her junior at 24.
They met when she was just 19, at a fashion shoot for Italian Vogue on the Isle of Skye, and they have three children.
“Catherine also gets along with my ex-wives and girlfriends,” adds Bailey. “ If someone who lives with someone for more than ten months and spends the rest of their life hating that person, there is something wrong. ”
His first muse, Jean Shrimpton, reflected last year in his autobiography Look Again: “ He could get strong, a little, sometimes … He would be in trouble today. But no one opposed it. He was very popular with everyone.
Looks like Emilia’s passion is in bloom
Emilia Fox, 46, shared a photo of herself carrying pink dahlias and white cosmos from the trunk of her car
Silent Witness star Emilia Fox, who split from partner talent manager Luc Chaudhary last year, is busy channeling her passions elsewhere.
The 46-year-old girl from the Actor’s Dynasty – which includes her father, Edward and cousin, Laurence – shared a photo of herself carrying pink dahlias and white cosmos from the trunk of her car outside her house from West London.
Emilia, who wore a matching £ 200 floral top, loves the flowers so much that she named her ten-year-old daughter, Rose.
“I’ve always thought that wherever you go, if you have flowers, you’ll feel right at home,” she says.
Pursuit of Love star Lily James, who was slammed having sex with her co-star Dominic West last year, admits that there are similarities between her and her on-screen character, La free-spirited Linda Radlett.
“I relate to her passion and her open heart,” she says. “I think people want to be more like Linda. I think she probably would have become a groupie and gone to parties with Mick Jagger.

Modfather musician Paul Weller’s daughter Leah, who sang their co-written single, Shades Of Blue, on The Jonathan Ross Show last weekend, admits her performance anxiety is so bad she lurks in the bathroom before going on stage.
“I have tried a range of therapies, but I find that meditation helps me better manage my anxiety,” says the 28-year-old, whose mother is The Style Council singer Dee C Lee.
“I also tend to isolate myself a bit before the performances. I’m going to sit in the corner of a bathroom to concentrate.
The plan of the “ royal yacht ” does not amuse the queen
Boris Johnson’s support for a new national flagship named after Prince Philip will not cut the ice with the Queen if he is in any way seen as a ‘royal yacht’ to replace her well- beloved Britannia.
Demand for a state yacht to seize post-Brexit business opportunities is gaining momentum, but the concept is not fully embraced by the monarch.
His response was described as ‘lukewarm’ during a conversation with the late parking mogul Sir Donald Gosling, who had offered £ 20million of his personal fortune to build a new ship.
A friend of Sir Don recalls: ‘HM said the last thing she wanted was to be seen as’ angling’ for something detractors might claim to be just another royal trinket .
And although Philip was initially excited about the idea of a ‘floating embassy’ that could be used to provide training and learning, he said the topic has just become the inevitable political football. ”
So who is walking all over Sir Tim?
When 60-year-old Amanda Eliasch visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she couldn’t resist bowing to the Sir Tim Rice star.
Oscar-winning lyricist Sir Tim Rice has clearly left things on good terms with his erstwhile lover, Amanda Eliasch.
When the socialite, 60, visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she couldn’t resist bowing down to her star.
“ I do curtsy to you my friend Sir Tim Rice, ” she captioned the photo online. “I love this area because you meet your friends, heroes and superstars.
The songwriter’s star – who then became the 2375th – was unveiled in 2008, a year after forming a romantic relationship with Amanda, the ex-wife of billionaire conservative donor Johan Eliasch.
Award-winning Doctor Who star Sharon D. Clarke has accused BBC makeup artists of being hostile to black actors.
‘It doesn’t seem like such a big deal, but it’s huge when you walk in and someone doesn’t know how to handle your hair, stares at you in horror or immediately comes to you with a neon palette and wants to throw some yellows and roses on your eyes, ”she said.
‘It’s just, like’ Wait! ‘
