Before there was Ellen and his wife Portia de Rossi, there was Ellen DeGeneres and Anne Heche. In the 90s, the two dated and openly dated, which was unheard of in Hollywood. Since their separation, DeGeneres and Heche have remained quite distant from each other professionally. With the scandal now surrounding Ellen, Heche opened up about her ex.
Not in an outwardly negative way? At least not before a recent article in the British newspaper The mirror. With 2020 being the year of the never-ending Ellen DeGeneres scandals, it’s probably a good idea to talk about what Heche said. After all, there was a chance the two could have become wife and wife before their split.

On their relationship
Heche spoke Mr. Warburton magazine a few months ago about his relationship with Ellen. Even though the two haven’t spoken in years, Heche had nothing but compliments to say about his ex-girlfriend.
“When I met Ellen, she was beaming with light. There was nothing that could have shone brighter than who she was in the center of this room. I’ll never forget. Our time has been a beautiful part of my life and one that I carry with honor. I was part of a revolution that created social change, and I couldn’t have done it without falling in love with her.
She added that, due to attitudes towards openly LGBTQ + couples in Hollywood at the time, her career came to a halt as a result. On the podcast, Irish goodbyeshe said of them making their first Hollywood appearance together almost done with her Six days, seven nights with Harrison Ford. Ford, famous, supported Heche by keeping his role in the film.
On current scandals
While Heche has only good things to say about Ellen during their relationship together, she’s made it clear that they haven’t spoken to each other in years. She and Ellen knew each other at a different time in their lives. After all, people change. Sometimes for the worse.
So for all of the talk about Ellen’s nasty personality and her talk show’s toxic workplace, Heche said she was inclined to believe those who have been around Ellen recently. She said to Vulture:
“If I’m standing somewhere and I don’t like what’s going on there and stay there, it’s my fault. So what are the actions that got me there and why can’t I get away with it easily if it’s not something I want to get involved in? Ellen stands where she walks, and it’s up to her to continue this journey.
So no reunion between Heche and Ellen?
Probably not. Heche is however living his best life. She is on this season of Dancing with the stars. Currently, she is in a relationship with Hung actor Thomas Jane. The two look pretty happy together, so good to them. Honestly, you can’t say anything more about a relationship that ended twenty years ago, you know?
