PARIS (Reuters) – Austro-British fashion duo Andreas Kronthaler and Vivienne Westwood have brought a caravan of tartan and silk-like models into the golden corridors of Paris city hall to present their winter 2020-21 collection.
Contrasting the opulence of the Hôtel de Ville in the French capital, the models in long skirts and oversized coats looked like peasants with garlic or pepper braid necklaces and the occasional multicolored feather hat to top it off .
Perhaps in homage to the French flag, Kronthaler and Westwood gave a model a red, white and blue tri-color pompadour hairstyle to go with a puffy blue petticoat and a white corset.
The American model Bella Hadid closed the show on Saturday with a dagger with a wedding dress whose translucent lace strongly alluded to the breasts of the gypsy bride.
As for Westwood, the former punk queen wore a long purple dress.
