LAS VEGAS, July 6 – Corey Anderson has started his last light heavyweight season 19 game with Ultimate Van Fighter against Matt Van Buren under the nickname “Beastin 25/8”. By the end of Sunday’s fight, that nickname was unmistakable, as Anderson crossed his opponent en route to a TKO first round victory at the Mandalay Bay Events Center
Known for his fight, it was Anderson’s strike that was highlighted because he injured Van Buren early and often with dull shots from which “Gutter” never recovered. At 01:01 am, after a barrage of unanswered strikes, referee Mario Yamasaki interrupted the bout.
With the victory, Anderson improves to 5-0; Van Buren drops to 7-3.
