Messi wears the new ‘Adidas X Speedportal Leyenda’ boots.

They are gold in color, but with blue and white details to represent the colors of the Argentine flag.

The Speedportals also feature black lines around the back and have some special details personalized for Messi.

First, on the outside of the right boot are the names and dates of birth of his two eldest.

These read ‘Thiago 02 11 12’ and ‘Mateo ’11 09 15’.

Thiago recently turned ten while Mateo is seven.

On the outside of the left boot, Messi bears the name and date of birth of his youngest child, aged four.

It reads ‘Ciro 10 03 18’.

Below, completing the tributes to his family, Messi has the shortened version of his wife Antonella’s name ‘Anto’.

Inside both boots he has the Argentine flag and his number ten.

Messi also has a ten on the back of both boots, with the left sporting an Adidas logo and the right sporting his own personal brand logo.

Messi scored his first 2022 World Cup goal in the boots when he netted in Argentina’s opener against Saudi Arabia but was stunned when the Saudis came from behind to win 2-1.

In response, La Albiceleste have emerged victorious in every game since.

Messi scored again as they beat Mexico 2-0 in their second group game before a 2-0 win over Poland secured their qualification for the knockout stage.

It was once again Messi who broke the deadlock in the 2-1 round of 16 win over Australia.

He also scored and then converted a penalty in the penalty shootout victory over the Netherlands.

Messi buried one more penalty as Argentina comfortably beat Croatia 3-0 in the semi-finals and now only France stood between him and ultimate glory.
