The 2021 season of Married at first sight is fast approaching.
And while viewers may be gearing up to meet this year’s couples, producers are battling the clock to try and film the series’ infamous reunion episodes.

While cast members may travel to New South Wales, attendees based in Victoria, Queensland, Brisbane and Perth will need to endure 14 days of mandatory hotel quarantine upon their return to their hometowns.
“ Eight newlyweds have already had to be quarantined for two weeks and they don’t want to have to do it again for just two days of filming, ” a source said.
According to the insider, the producers plan to reach out to attendees via Zoom, but are doing their best to try and negotiate plans for her stars to return in person.

“They need drama and the only way for it to be a decisive end is for them to be there in person,” the source added.
“ The reunion doesn’t air until the end of March, but no one knows what’s going to happen with the virus and the travel, so they want it to happen sooner rather than later. ”
The TV insider claimed that while most of the show’s bride and groom were only too happy to return, others had already returned to their jobs and families.

The show’s much-loved cocktails and dinners are filmed at a warehouse in Lilyfield, Sydney, currently considered a ‘red zone’ by the Victorian government.
The new coronavirus travel system, introduced last week, blocks anyone from a so-called ‘red zone’ and forces people coming from an orange zone or a green zone to apply for a permit.
