Back in action for the first time since April 2018, Namajunas came out quickly, drawing a hard blow between the fakes and the right hand. Before the first minute, Andrade was cut in the left eye, and even if “Bate Estaca” aggressively pursued the champion, Namajunas continued to score at will. Andrade tried to snap Namajunas but almost got caught in an armband, allowing the Milwaukee native to get back on his feet. With 1:30 to the left, Namajunas sent Andrade tripping over the canvas with one knee, and after a few knocks on the ground, he was back on his feet.
Namajunas’ stick and move attack continued to pay off in the second round, and while Andrade continued to throw and charge, too often the Brazilian was left in the air. But as the two locked themselves against the fence, Andrade again lifted Namajunas for a slam, and this time it hit devastatingly, as Namajunas landed on his head and was stunned. Two strikes followed, referee Marc Goddard stopping the fight at 2:58 of the second round.
