MasterChef star received legal letter from Elle MacPherson’s WelleCo supplement brand after duplicating its products at a bargain price
Former MasterChef star Jimmy Seervai has revealed he received a legal letter from WelleCo from Elle Macpherson.
The chef, who has reinvented himself as a successful nutritional supplement maker, said Macpherson was upset after he began selling a replicated version of his supplement products at a bargain price.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that Macpherson claims its popular ‘beauty and wellness’ line has the ability to ‘liberate’ customers ‘to live the life they want’.

However, Seervai believes the brand is “mainly freeing its customers from their hard-earned money.”
Seervai, who founded and operates supplements business Life Botanics in Nowra, has been awash with threats of litigation since launching his thriving company in March.
In September, he received a cease and desist letter from lawyers asking him to stop producing a supplement identical to Macpherson’s Super Elixir and Greens Elixir which retails for around $24.95, a fraction of the $88 from WelleCo.

Seervai maintains that all major players in the supplement industry like WelleCo, Swisse, and Natures Way all outsource the production of their products to manufacturers like him.
He told the publication that he has made products for all four of these brands – all of which are required to publish their ingredients online, meaning there is full transparency in the industry.
“They all believe that with these products they have invented something on par with the Covid vaccine,” Seervai said.

‘They did not do it. They replicate what everyone else does, but just add a different twist to it.
Jimmy shot to fame in 2010 when he appeared as a contestant on MasterChef.
He is now the father of five children and is one of the key players in the range of supplements in Australia.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted both parties for comment.
