Grammy Award-winning singer Ruth Pointer was unmasked and eliminated from The Masked Singer on Wednesday after playing the role of Cupcake on the hit Fox show.
The 75-year-old Pointer Sisters singer performed Bruno Mars’s hit Finesse in dressed in a giant purple Cupcake costume with blue and purple swirling frosting as the Group B contestants took to the stage.
Ruth baffled panelists Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger on the hour-long show which featured a Date Night theme.

Cupcake revealed to panelists during a post-performance speed dating quiz that she considered herself Black Elizabeth Taylor because she had married multiple times.
Nicole, 43, told her she liked her performance. When Nicole asked her if she would give advice from her past, Cupcake said, “Date, don’t get married.”
Before Cupcake’s unmasking show host Nick Cannon, 40, in a sequined top and black fedora, gave the panelist one last chance to guess his identity.
Ken, 52, said something in her stomach told her she was Tina Turner. Robin said he thought she was actress Leslie Jones. Jenny McCarthy, 48, guessed she was Grace Jones.

Only Nicole guessed correctly after moving from her first impression of Roberta Flack.
Ruth after her unmasking revealed that there would initially be two Cupcakes on the show, but her sister Anita, 73, couldn’t compete due to health issues, so she decided to compete on her own.
Nick then asked Ruth to speak to her sick sister.

“Honey, I did what I came to do, and I love you and can’t wait to come home and support you,” Ruth said.
Robin, 44, told Ruth he was a huge fan of her.

Then, the “Men in Black” brought out a speed dating question table to help the panelist get closer to his identity.
The judges asked them questions on high heat, for example if they like swimming in a lake or a pool or if they like small gatherings or large parties. Their responses of lake and great celebration did not bring the panelists closer to their true identity.
Next, the Queen of Hearts, dressed in a giant red heart outfit with blue lips and long golden nails, took the stage and sang “La Vie En Rose” by Edith Piaf in French.

Ken thought she might be Ireland Baldwin, while Robin guessed it might be Ashley Judd.
Mallard took the stage after giving panelists a clue that he had met his wife in fourth grade. He performed ‘My House’ by Flo Rida, a song he dedicated to his wife.

Jenny told him that his performance was “amazing”.
During the speed dating round of questions, Ken asked him if he was “on or off” and he said “on”. Nicole asked if he was hairy or bald and he replied “extremely hairy”.
Mallard also said his favorite physical attribute is his dimples.

Nick stopped him and said it was Mallard’s speeding date and asked Mallard which judge he was most bonded with. Mallard told him Jenny because they could sit on the couch and be on the same page.
Robin stepped in and said “I think it’s Freddie Prince Junior.” Jenny thought maybe it was Jon Bon Jovi. Robin then questioned his own guess, saying that Mario Lopez was also known for his dimples.

The Caterpillar, Group B Wildcard, then came to perform. Dressed as a giant yellow and pink caterpillar with suspenders and shiny eyebrows, it was revealed that he had previously been arrested and had a rough childhood.
He sang Beyonce’s “If I Were A Boy” and the audience gave him a standing ovation.
Jenny said she was getting yet another boy group vibe case.
Ken guessed it could be Aaron Carter, while Jenny said she thought it could be AJ McLean of the Backstreet Boys.
The Masked Singer will return next Wednesday on Fox.
